Problem 4

For every positive integer nn let an=∑k=n2n(2k+1)nka_n=\sum_{k=n}^{2n}\frac{(2k+1)^n}{k} Show that there exists no nn , for which ana_n is a non-negative integer.

Problem 5

Which positive integers are missing in the sequence {an}\left\{a_n\right\} , with an=n+[n]+[n3]a_n = n + \left[\sqrt n\right] +\left[\sqrt [3]n\right] for all n≥1n \ge 1 ? ( [x]\left[x\right] denotes the largest integer less than or equal to xx , i.e. gg with g≤x<g+1g \le x < g + 1 .)

Problem 6

We are given a square ABCDABCD . Let PP be a point not equal to a corner of the square or to its center MM . For any such PP , we let EE denote the common point of the lines PDPD and ACAC , if such a point exists. Furthermore, we let FF denote the common point of the lines PCPC and BDBD , if such a point exists. All such points PP , for which EE and FF exist are called acceptable points. Determine the set of all acceptable points, for which the line EFEF is parallel to ADAD .
