Problem 1

Determine the number of integers nn with 1≤n≤N=199019901 \le n \le N=1990^{1990} such that n2−1n^2-1 and NN are coprime.

Problem 2

Show that for all integers n≥2n \ge 2 , 234...nn43<2\sqrt { 2\sqrt[3]{3 \sqrt[4]{4...\sqrt[n]{n}}}}<2

Problem 3

In a convex quadrilateral ABCDABCD , let EE be the intersection point of the diagonals, and let F1,F2,F_1,F_2, and FF be the areas of ABE,CDE,ABE,CDE, and ABCD,ABCD, respectively. Prove that:

F1+F2≤F.\sqrt {F_1}+\sqrt {F_2} \le \sqrt {F}.

Problem 4

For each nonzero integer nn find all functions f:R−{−3,0}→Rf: \mathbb{R} - \{-3,0 \} \rightarrow \mathbb{R} satisfying:

f(x+3)+f(−9x)=(1−n)(x2+3x−9)9n(x+3)+2nf(x+3)+f \left( -\frac{9}{x} \right)=\frac{(1-n)(x^2+3x-9)}{9n(x+3)}+\frac{2}{n} for all x≠0,−3.x \not= 0,-3.

Furthermore, for each fixed nn find all integers xx for which f(x)f(x) is an integer.

Problem 5

Determine all rational numbers rr such that all solutions of the equation:

rx2+(r+1)x+(r−1)=0rx^2+(r+1)x+(r-1)=0 are integers.

Problem 6

A convex pentagon ABCDEABCDE is inscribed in a circle. The distances of AA from the lines BC,CD,DEBC,CD,DE are a,b,c,a,b,c, respectively. Compute the distance of AA from the line BEBE .
