USAMO 2016 Problem 3

  • Day 1

Let △ABC\triangle ABC be an acute triangle, and let IB,IC,I_B, I_C, and OO denote its BB -excenter, CC -excenter, and circumcenter, respectively. Points EE and YY are selected on AC‾\overline{AC} such that ∠ABY=∠CBY\angle ABY=\angle CBY and BE‾⊥AC‾\overline{BE}\perp\overline{AC} . Similarly, points FF and ZZ are selected on AB‾\overline{AB} such that ∠ACZ=∠BCZ\angle ACZ=\angle BCZ and CF‾⊥AB‾\overline{CF}\perp\overline{AB} .

Lines IBF↔\overleftrightarrow{I_BF} and ICE↔\overleftrightarrow{I_CE} meet at PP . Prove that PO‾\overline{PO} and YZ‾\overline{YZ} are perpendicular.
