NMC 2012 Problem 1

  • Answer

The real numbers a,b,ca, b, c are such that a2+b2=2c2a^{2}+b^{2}=2 c^{2}, and also such that a≠b,c≠−a,c≠−ba \neq b, c \neq-a, c \neq-b. Show that

(a+b+2c)(2a2−b2−c2)(a−b)(a+c)(b+c)\frac{(a+b+2 c)\left(2 a^{2}-b^{2}-c^{2}\right)}{(a-b)(a+c)(b+c)}

is an integer.
