NMC 2010 Problem 2

  • Answer

Three circles ΓA,ΓB\Gamma_{A}, \Gamma_{B} and ΓC\Gamma_{C} share a common point of intersection OO. The other common of ΓA\Gamma_{A} and ΓB\Gamma_{B} is CC, that of ΓA\Gamma_{A} and ΓC\Gamma_{C} is BB and that of ΓC\Gamma_{C} and ΓB\Gamma_{B} is AA. The line AOA O intersects the circle ΓC\Gamma_{C} in the poin X≠OX \neq O. Similarly, the line BOB O intersects the circle ΓB\Gamma_{B} in the point Y≠OY \neq O, and the line COC O intersects the circle ΓC\Gamma_{C} in the point Z≠OZ \neq O. Show that

∣AY∣∣BZ∣∣CX∣∣AZ∣∣BX∣∣CY∣=1\frac{|A Y||B Z||C X|}{|A Z||B X||C Y|}=1
