INMO 2011 Problem 3

    Consider two polynomials P(x)=anxn+an−1xn−1+⋯+a1x+a0P(x)=a_{n} x^{n}+a_{n-1} x^{n-1}+\cdots+a_{1} x+a_{0} and Q(x)=bnxn+Q(x)=b_{n} x^{n}+ bn−1xn−1+⋯+b1x+b0b_{n-1} x^{n-1}+\cdots+b_{1} x+b_{0} with integer coefficients such that an−bna_{n}-b_{n} is a prime, an−1=bn−1a_{n-1}=b_{n-1} and anb0−a0bn≠0a_{n} b_{0}-a_{0} b_{n} \neq 0. Suppose there exists a rational number rr such that P(r)=Q(r)=0P(r)=Q(r)=0. Prove that rr is an integer.
