Problem 1

  • Paper

Let ABCDA B C D be a trapezoid with ABA B parallel to CD,∣AB∣>∣CD∣C D,|A B|>|C D|, and equal edges ∣AD∣=∣BC∣|A D|=|B C|. Let II be the center of the circle tangent to lines AB,ACA B, A C and BDB D, where AA and II are on opposite sides of BDB D. Let JJ be the center of the circle tangent to lines CD,ACC D, A C and BDB D, where DD and JJ are on opposite sides of ACA C. Prove that ∣IC∣=∣JB∣|I C|=|J B|.

Let n≥2n \geq 2 be some fixed positive integer and suppose that a1,a2,…,ana_{1}, a_{2}, \ldots, a_{n} are positive real numbers satisfying a1+a2+⋯+an=2n−1a_{1}+a_{2}+\cdots+a_{n}=2^{n}-1.

Find the minimum possible value of

Problem 3

  • Paper

At a dinner party there are NN hosts and NN guests, seated around a circular table, where N≥4N \geq 4. A pair of two guests will chat with one another if either there is at most one person seated between them or if there are exactly two people between them, at least one of whom is a host. Prove that no matter how the 2 N people are seated at the dinner party, at least NN pairs of guests will chat with one another.

A function ff from the positive integers to the positive integers is called Canadian if it satisfies

gcd⁡(f(f(x)),f(x+y))=gcd⁡(x,y)\operatorname{gcd}(f(f(x)), f(x+y))=\operatorname{gcd}(x, y)

for all pairs of positive integers xx and yy. Find all positive integers mm such that f(m)=mf(m)=m for all Canadian functions ff.

Problem 5

  • Answer

Nina and Tadashi play the following game. Initially, a triple (a,b,c)(a, b, c) of nonnegative integers with a+b+c=a+b+c= 2021 is written on a blackboard. Nina and Tadashi then take moves in turn, with Nina first. A player making a move chooses a positive integer kk and one of the three entries on the board; then the player increases the chosen entry by kk and decreases the other two entries by kk. A player loses if, on their turn, some entry on the board becomes negative.

Find the number of initial triples (a,b,c)(a, b, c) for which Tadashi has a winning strategy.
